十一月義賣籌備聚會

On Friday October 30th from 10 to 11:30am, the Itaewon-Hannam Global Village Center, in cooperation with the Korea Family Counseling Center, will be holding a special Parenting Abroad Seminar. This session will be led in English by Dr. Eunsun Joo, who is one of the counselors from the Family Counseling Center. She holds an MA and Phd in Psychology from the University of Chicago and is currently an associate professor at Duksung Women’s University. Through a lecture and discussion period participating parents will be able to learn more about how to meet the challenges of raising children while living abroad. We will be providing information on different activities for children that can be found in Seoul, and there will also be the possibility of arranging some follow-up sessions in which people could get more specialized counseling for particular age groups or situations. There is no charge to join this initial seminar but spaces are limited so please contact us as soon as possible to register. Event Details: Friday, October 30th

Seoul International Jazz Festival 2009~~分享~~ We will have a Jazz festival for the citizens and jazz mania in Seoul in Kwanak gu Science exposition and Nakseoungdae Park. The festival will be held in Oct.9(Fri) to 10(Sat), 2009. We're sure that it will be unforgettable event forud everyone. In this festival, the following international famous jazz musician will perform for this event. The Korean musicians are Jaedeok Jeon, Ung san, Malo, and wonderful play jazz band. The Foreign musicians are Kenjiomet quartetti, Ronn Branton and Martin Jacobsen & friends. You will enjoy wonderful and fantastic jazz music that is created and performed by these musicians. Also, Jazz Morning Star Contest will be held for the amateurs and underground musicians. In the event, a variety programs will be prepared. They will be the jazz exposition that you can easily experience ,and the famous Korean singers will sing.

Englishman Andrew Salmon covers the Koreas for Forbes, Monocle, The South China Morning Post, The Times and The Washington Times. A graduate of the University of Kent and the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, he is the author of American Business and the Korean Miracle: U.S. Enterprises in Korea, 1866 – The Present (2003). His interests include martial arts, history, wining and dining. Author and JoongAng Daily restaurant critic Andrew Salmon will present the ingredients and characteristics of Korean food and the development of a modern restaurant culture in Seoul. He will also address Korea’s failure to promote its excellent national cuisine internationally, beyond Japan. Finally, as the author of the 2002 restaurant guidebook Seoul Food Finder, he will give his personal top ten Seoul restaurants. |
